Catch up...

I know it has been awhile since I have posted a "real blog". So I am here to play catch up as so many of our "knoxville'ins " have asked us to do. I can't believe you guys actually want to hear about labor and why I chose to exclusively pump... For starters I was totally scared out of my mind when they said they were going to induce me, but everything happened so fast . Since it has been 3 months and I am still a little sleep deprived I will try to recall. (By the way I'm taking applications for babysitters LOL) Labor was.......well labor.... a true labor of love because that is the only way I would go through this. The pain was bearable in the beginning then he broke my water and I swore I was having a alien...... A alien to big to come out(to much SyFy channel). They came and gave me a epidural that lasted for 5 minutes, yes only five because the spot in my spine they picked was were my MS has destroyed . Now the task of pushing this baby out all natural had begun. Lucky it only took thirty minutes and he was here and it was all worth it. Now I don't know if I would do it again but it was worth hearing Bryce cry and seeing Larry so happy. Bryce was a true 8lbs and 12oz but as my previous post I did not walk away unharmed. I am still dealing with a broke tailbone. But what I didn't know is how nursing would be the HARDEST part of having a baby . I thought breastfeeding would just come naturally (yea right). I didn't even give it a second thought. But really, it has been so hard.I have tried EVERYTHING that I know of to get this kid to eat from the mothership, but he still would not latch on. So I decided to do the next best thing and pump every feeding (yes every feeding!). SO far so good, no more nights sitting up crying in frustration for both of us. I supplement one bottle a day with soy formula and he is doing good(16lbs good). Granted it is alot more work always being attached to "the pump",cleaning, sterilizing, leaking, watching the clock, and always traveling with numerous extras is all worth it. Since Bryce is a true gift I only want to give him the best and whats better than the milk nature intended. Now to present time......(whew now I need a nap.) Everything is going great, we still don't have the sleeping all night thing down yet but we are getting better . We have been to Knoxville about 4 times, gainesville, and stone mountain and he has done wonderful on all the trips. Except for now we have to buy him a portable dvd player.. yes that's right we need to buy a 3 month old a portable DVD player. It all started when one day he was being fuzzy I played some videos on my cell phone. Then we did Disney channel through Verizon videos and he has been hooked ever since...... O" yeah another thing Larry got the notion to send Bryce's picture to the Chattanooga Times free press and they picked Bryce's picture to run as the daily photo. It was so great... I hope I covered everything and I will try to be a little more proactive..... Love you all...
